Hello World!

The Art, Science, and Business of Brewing Beer: I thought the college class would quench a simple curiosity. To the surprise of many, it started a career. For years to follow, I spent more time studying the microbiology of fermentation than quantum mechanics, and ended up presenting the fluid dynamics of brewhouse whirlpools to fellow physicists more than once.

After 4 years of growth and streamlining at Breakside Brewery, I realized that I would rather find insights in piles of messy data than pint glasses. To satisfy my thirst for knowledge, I switched from one of the oldest professions to one of the newest: Data Science.

I still spend 80% of my time cleaning, and 20% experimenting with maniacal attention to minutia. And still, the scientific method drives my life. I mutate theories and test the results. I find the underlying truths and am delighted when the data prove me wrong. I love the quest of knowledge, and everything that gets brewed up in the process.
